The Web Design Business is Great!

Well ours is. I don’t know about anyone else – I don’t have time to look!

Business is booming and our little web design company is going from strength to strength. The trouble is that we’re so busy creating amazing websites and ecommerce shops for people that I’m not finding much time to do things on our own website. Things like writing blog posts and even updating our portfolio (essential for a web design company you’d think), are at the bottom of the pile because we always (rightly), prioritise client work.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a great problem to have and we love what we do but I miss working on our website and the risk, as I’m always telling our customers (sorry folks), is that up to date and regularly refreshed content, which is essential for SEO and gives new clients a feeling of confidence, just doesn’t materialize.

When you look at the blog on a website and it hasn’t been updated for a while what do you think? Can’t they be bothered to update their own website? Have they gone bust? In either case you’d probably decide to move along to the next website – the next business. Just as crucial is the fact that Google – your biggest source or organic search visitors – likes to see regularly updated content. Stagnant content = stagnant search results.

So, aside from boasting about how great business is I also, hopefully, snuck in a little hint that you must keep the content of your web site up to date and if you have a blog you must use it.

Keep an eye out here for more blog posts and look out for the four case studies I need to write over the next couple of weeks. If I can find the time.

If you’d like a chat to us about your new website get in touch. Don’t leave it to too long though: there’s a waiting list!
